Dr. Jay Ravindran is a cardiologist with a strong academic and clinical background. He earned his Bachelor of Medical Science with High Distinction from the University of New South Wales, followed by his medical training at James Cook University, where he graduated with distinction. Subsequently he completed a Master of Internal Medicine at the University of Sydney. He went on to complete his Basic Physician training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and specialty cardiology training at Concord Hospital.
In 2024, Dr. Ravindran was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). He is currently an interventional research fellow at both Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals. Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Ravindran is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, where his research focuses on novel mechanisms and therapeutic options for patients with angina and non-obstructive coronary artery disease.
Dr. Ravindran has a particular interest in coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, structural heart intervention, heart failure, and preventative cardiology. He has published research in reputable medical journals and presented his work at both national and international conferences.
He is committed to providing holistic, evidence-based care and values effective communication with his patients, ensuring compassionate and personalized consultations to meet their individual needs. Dr. Ravindran is also an advocate for mentorship and is actively involved in teaching and guiding the next generation of cardiology professionals.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ravindran enjoys playing cricket and tennis, both of which help him maintain a balanced and well-rounded lifestyle.
